IT Officer

(Full-time)

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable IT Officer to join our team. The IT Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, and networks. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, implementing security measures, providing technical support to staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of all IT-related functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, customer-service mindset, and the ability to create visually appealing designs and engaging content.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform system diagnostics, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain data backup and disaster recovery systems to safeguard critical organizational data.
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect the organization’s IT assets and data from unauthorized access or breaches.
  • Collaborate with the design and content team to create visually appealing designs and engaging content for various projects.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of design and content strategies to enhance the organization’s digital presence.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems, installing and configuring software applications, and assisting with user training.
  • Maintain and update documentation related to IT systems, procedures, and configurations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and test IT projects and system upgrades.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT to recommend and implement improvements and enhancements.
  • Assist in IT procurement activities, including evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships with IT suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working as an IT Officer or in a similar IT support role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Strong design and content skills
  • Basic experience with network administration and security.
  • Familiarity with data backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Certifications in relevant IT areas (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco) are desirable but not required.

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Design skills and proficiency in graphic design tools
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
  • Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress) is a plus
